OpenLife Nigeria reports that Lagos State the Commissioner of Police , Moshood Jimoh has given insights into the earth shaking nature of the sexual allegations against the pastor of Liberation City Church, Chris Okafor.
Sexual abuse allegations, involving top celebrities, have been rocking the Liberation City Church.

While speaking during an interview on Channels TV, the police boss revealed that some of the women who accused Pastor Chris Okafor of sexual abuse are allegedly married — a detail that has added an entirely new layer of controversy to the already heated case.

According to CP Jimoh, although the claim is still being verified, the police are taking no chances with the safety and privacy of the women involved.

“We learned that some of them are equally married but we are yet to verify that—so we are going to protect their identity, not only at the level of the police, but equally give them security, because we have the right under the law to protect our complainants to ensure that no harm comes their way,” he said.

The Commissioner made it clear that the police are encouraging all alleged victims to come forward without fear and officially document their complaints.

“So we want people to have the boldness to come out and come and substantiate all their complaints and put pen to paper about it so that we can go further in the investigation,” he added.

As the story continues to stir emotions and divide opinions, CP Jimoh also addressed concerns about fairness in the investigation, stressing that everything must be done according to the law — including how the accused is treated.

“Nothing is an offense except what the law states to be an offense. And the law stating the offense will clearly state the procedure for which an offender should be handled, and equally will tell you what are the facts in issue to prove such an offense,” he stated.
