Kebbi Police Command Reinforces Security In Villages Along Nigeria

OpenLife Nigeria reports that the Kebbi State Police Command has arraigned four suspects in connection with a cattle rustling incident along Nigeria–Niger border villages, reinforcing its commitment to protecting life and property.

This is contained in a statement signed by SP Bashir Usman, Police Public Relations Officer Kebbi State Command and made available to OpenLife.

The statement stated on 9th December, 2025 at about 2300hrs, unknown armed and masked men attacked the area and rustled about thirty-four (34) cows.

Acting on credible intelligence, Police operatives from Dolekaina Division, in collaboration with the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Command, conducted a coordinated crack-down operation.

The operation resulted in the recovery of thirteen (13) of the rustled cows and the arrest of the suspects: Bilyaminu Aliyu, Bashar Umar, Zaharaddeen Abdullahi, and Basiru Umar alias Haji Yaro.

Following preliminary investigations, the suspects were arraigned today to face charges relating to the offence, while efforts continue to recover the remaining livestock and apprehend other persons involved.

The Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, commended the professionalism and efficiency of the officers and reaffirmed the Command’s determination to tackle cattle rustling and other criminal activities across the state.
