Former head of the Directorate of Military Intelligence (DMI), Brigadier-General Ibrahim Sabo (rtd.) is dead.
Sabo died in the early hours of Saturday, January 1, 2022 after a brief illness.
He died in Israel.
The Will Nigeria reports that the former DMI boss under the regime of late military Head of State, General Sani Abacha had been implicated during the Oputa panel in alleged frame up of top serving and retired military officers in a phantom coup that led to the arrest and subsequent detention of President Olusegun Obasanjo and his former deputy, the late Maj.-Gen. Shehu Musa Yar’adua, Gen. Oladapo Diya and several others.

Sabo had also told the Oputa Panel that the primary aim of military taking over power was to steal money.
He had alleged that former Head of State, “General Abdulsalami Abubakar manifested high propensity of looking for money and grumbled loudly any time he did not get his wish.”
