2023: Nigerian minister resigns after Buhari’s order

The Minister of State for Education, Hon Emeka Nwajiuba has tendered his resignation letter today in order to focus on the forthcoming All Progressives Congress presidential primary election.

The development was made known today at the end of the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja.

Hon Nwajiuba obtained his nomination form last week and he is expected to battle for the APC ticket with the likes of Tinubu, Osibanjo, and others.

The tenure of the minister is tainted with unceasing industrial actions by ASUU, a union that has been on strike since February 24.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday ordered every member of the Federal Executive Council who have ambition to contest elective offices in 2023 general elections to resign on or before May 16, 2022.
