Job Description
MTN Scholarships, a part of MTN’s Youth Development Cause, provides an annual platform for recognizing and rewarding dedicated, high-performing students across Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions. We have curated three scholarship categories to cater to the diverse needs of our exceptional scholars:
Available MTN 2023 MTN Scholarships
MTN Science and Technology Scholarship 2023
The flagship program since 2010, open to eligible 300 level students studying Science & Technology-related courses, in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education). 300 successful students are awarded scholarships worth N200,000.00 annually till graduation, provided they maintain the required grades.
MTN Scholarships for Blind Students (MTN SBS) 2023
Launched in 2012 and targeted at eligible 200 and 300 level blind students studying any course in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education). 60 successful blind students are awarded scholarships worth N200,000.00 annually till graduation, provided they maintain the required grades.
Top 10 UTME Scholarships 2023
A recent addition in 2020, every year the top 10 scoring candidates of UTME as announced by JAMB, automatically qualify for the top 10 UTME scholarship. The successful candidates are awarded scholarships worth N200,000.00 from their 100 level through to graduation if they maintain the required grades.
Eligibility Requirements
Institution of Study
o MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) and MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) is open to Nigerian students in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institution (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education).
Course of Study
o MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) is open to 300-level students studying Science & Technology related courses, in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education).
o MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) is open to 200 & 300-level Blind students studying any course in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education).
Level of Study
MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS):
o The application is open to students who have completed their second semester 200 level examinations going to 300 level and students currently in their 300 level as we understand that the academic calendar in not aligned across all public tertiary institutions.
The MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS):
The application is open to 200 & 300 level blind students in any Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education). However, for blind students studying Law, which is a 5 years course, only 300 level students can apply for the MTN Scholarship.
Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)
The MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS):
o STEM Students in Public Universities and Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) score of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (second-class upper credit)
o STEM Students in Public Polytechnics must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.
o Direct Entry level STEM students must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) program and must have secured admission into 300 level/3rd year in a Public University.
MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS):
o Blind Students in Universities or Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5
o Blind Students in Public Polytechnics must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.
